please help me with my sweet sixteen dinner/limo ride?
so i turn 16 in june and i wanted to rent a limo and take my closest friends (4 girls) to the cheesecake factory. the max i plan to spend is 500.. less if possible for everything including the limo. so my questions are:
-how much does a limo cost per hour? i plan on 4 hours. is that enough to pick everyone up and then eat dinner and drop them off? or should they get picked upby their parents?
-how does a limo charge you. such as gas rates, hourly rates, tips for the driver, additional charges?
-do i need an adult chaperone in the limo ride?
-is the cheesecake factory a good place for a dinner party? others suggestions are welcome! i live on long island (suffolk county)
- how much is an entree, non alcoholic drinks, cheesecake?
-should i buy the whole cheesecake or half or slices or do they have birthday cakes? or can i buy it somewhere else and have them serve it?
i would appreciate any other ideas but i really just want to spend it with my 4 closest friends so keep that in mind:) thank you so much!
to Ouroboro,
so what if I want to have fun on my birthday? Is that so wrong? it seems like you need to get a life instead of giving pointless and unhelpful answers. just dont bother answering them next time. thanks for wasting your time and mine.
thank you to everyone else who wished me a happy birthday or tryed to help!:)
i would have a sleepover at my house but were getting our floors redone and it wont be done in time for the party since we are basically redoing the whole second floor (which is where i would have the sleepover)

Whats up with these stupid “sweet 16″ parties? So you’re 16…Big deal! You don’t need anything more than ice-cream and a movie.
Happy Sweet Sixteen!
Sounds like you have it all figured out. Nothing says class like riding a limo to the Cheesecake Factory. gl
Okay. So you sound like you have it all planned out. Cheesecake Factory and limo ride can both cost a lot. You might wanna plan for a little more expensive just in case. My sweet sixteen was just a bowling party at my local bowling alley. Oh and a giant black and purple cake.
Well, I just had my 16th birthday party on april first, and we rented a limo to take myself and 25 other friends out with me around town, and go on a scavenger hunt around the city. (kind of like the amazing race, where you have to figure out what to do next, and where to go, the winner gets a small prize, such as a ring pop, or candy or something) and it was really fun! Except for the fact that the limo driver forgot abuot my party, and was 4 hours late, and gave us the wrong limo, and got in a car accident, and almost got hit by a train, and we almost ran out of gas…but other than that, the limo was extremely fun for the time we had it. and we went to the Rock wood fired pizza for dinner, and it was too expensive! the cheescake factory is a great place to go, just have your friends bring like 10-15$ and buy their food, or use that money to drive the limo around for a night on the town, like go bowling, or site-seeeing, but be in the public as much as possible, its nice to get the attention of people looking at the limo and stuff.
Make sure and have lots of music cds, and stuff, and fun games to play in the limo.
Parents do not have to be in the limo with you…
and if you make a deal with a limo company, instead of just ordering the limo without trying to get it cheaper.
WORD OF ADVICE: GO PHYSICALLY SEE THE LIMO BEFORE GIVING THEM THE MONEY! OTHERWISE YOU WILL GET CHARGED FOR A REALLY NICE LIMO, AND HAVE TO RIDE IN A REALLY CRAPPY CHEAP LIMO ((personal experience))
ALSO! MAKE SURE THE DRIVER HAS A CHAUFERS LICENSE, AND IT IS CURRENT! LOL I WAS FUCKED OVER BECAUSE OF A STUPID LIMO DRIVER THAT DIDNT HAVE INSURANCE, AND THEY JUST TAKE OUR MONEY FOR NO REASON!
other than that…the whole limo was extremely fun! and i think 500 is plent of money, so use some of the extra money on stuff for the scavenger hunt around the city, or bring more friends?
Not sure about prices where you live, but I’ve rented a limo in the past and, for 4 hours, they rent for anywhere from $250-$350 a pop. Dinner at the Cheesecake Factory is probably going to run between $15.00 and 20.00 per person without dessert (unless you eat light). Cokes or Shirly Temples usually run between $1.99 and $4.00 per pop. Cheesecake slices run aroun $5.00 per slice. Then there’s the tip, which should be 20% of the total bill. So, for you and your guests to eat figure on between $95.00 and $145.00 plus tip ($18.00 to 28.00).
Ok, here are some ideas to make it more cost effective:
1. Scratch the limo ride. You probably won’t need an adult chaperone, unless the company has a set rule of not letting kids under the age of 18 ride alone. But, how do your friends’ parents feel about it? Also, that’s going to eat up a ton of your money. Your 4 hour fee will include the 1 1/2 hours you’re going to spend at the restaurant, which doesn’t make it as cost effective as you might prefer.
2. Plan a spa day and sleepover that is spectacular! Find a cost effective nail place to do manicures and pedicures. Have your make-up done at one of the dept. store makeup counters, or schedule appointments to have your hair and makeup done. Go to Glamour Shots and have group pictures taken. This should be fun and each of you will have a picture to remind you of your special day. Plan on lunch at a favorite restaurant in your favorite mall. Go to the movies and see something you’ll all love. Matinee prices are lower. Plan a low key dinner with your family, such as spaghetti etc. Buy the cheesecake for your sleepover. Rent movies, bring music, have great snacks etc.
3. Plan something different. Look into horseback riding, ice skating, a riverboat or shoreline cruise, a cooking lesson with a prominent chef, working in a soup kitchen, etc.
4. Gift bags for the ladies: phone cards, Starbucks cards, nail and hair stuff, favorite pictures in minature frames of you and your special friend.
Happy Sweet 16!
oh i live in suffolk county long island too!! =] and im turning 16 april 26th but my party is may 8th………anyway…….
honestly i would ***** the limo ride and spend ur money on something more worthwhile. $500 is a lot of money, and spending $300 of it to sit in a pretty limo for an hour 1/2 isn’t worth it. instead why not have ur friends spend the night? i like the spa day idea the other girl gave, its cute and u could keep the rest of the money and go shopping or something.
or u could even use the money to go to six flags or splish splash when it gets a little warmer cause u know we dont live far from splish splash.
